Pamir Energy
Restoring Soviet-era hydro power plants in Tajikistan
When Pamir Energy was formed in 2002, electricity was available to only 13% of the 220,000 households in eastern Tajikistan’s most remote areas.
Since then, Pamir Energy has restored eleven Soviet-era hydro-power plants which now generate 44 megawatts of electricity - as well as and upgrading 4300km of old transmission and distribution facilities. This clean and reliable power source supplies energy to 96% of the local population, enabling sustainable economic development across the region.
