Technical Advances in Natural Climate Solutions

The Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) Science Working Group (SWG) aims to connect nature, science, and technology to address the fundamental challenges of scaling natural climate solutions.

SWG argues that recent advances in scientific understanding and technological developments have significantly improved the ability to assess the extent and condition of natural capital assets and their actual carbon performance. These improvements are particularly notable in forests, where many technological advancements in assessment have been achieved recently.

This paper lays out the recommendations, policies and procedures that can enable the full potential of these technology platforms. So natural climate solutions assessment can be realized with accurate and comprehensive data.
